Building a quantum computer has been a dream since Richard Feynman, among others, proposed using quantum mechanics to simulate physical systems. Although widely touted as a revolution in computation, due to their unintuitive nature, the public does not understand the fundamental principles of quantum computing. In this talk, Alexander Nenninger first introduces the fundamental computational model of quantum computers, use cases of quantum algorithms, and gives a brief overview over NTT’s activities in this area.

Bio: Alexander Nenninger is a technical consultant at NTT DATA in Quantum Computing. He mainly concerns with how hardware accelerators such as quantum computing can provide business value in solving large optimization problems. Outside of his current role, Alex has various technological interests; he maintains a FOSS library for CUDA accelerated brute force solving of QUBO problems.

Using CDK with Python for AWS Resource Creation and Maintenance: A Powerful IaC Tool for Tech-Savvy Companies - by Wolfgang Unger

Hi techies, I would like to talk about CDK with Python as IaC Tool for creating and maintaining resources in AWS. You have other options like CloudFormation and Terraform, but the CDK is a great choice for companies with internal programming KnowHow. The CDK supports 5 programming languages btw. It offers features and options text-based IaC Tools cannot catch up with. We will deploy these CDK resources with CodePipeline, where we can deploy these to various stages like Dev, Int, and Prod and also include pre- and post-build actions to include unit, lambda, acceptance, or integration tests.

Bio: I was born in Munich, Germany, and initially aspired to become a rockstar when I was 16. However, I eventually shifted my focus to IT and began my career as a programmer, working mainly with C and C++ and later with JEE. As I progressed to become a software architect, I developed a greater interest in the entire software development process, including DevOps. In 2014, I became fascinated by cloud technologies, particularly AWS, at a time when the cloud was mainly used by startups and not yet widely adopted by larger companies or consulting firms. As an early adopter, I quickly became a 6x AWS Certified professional, an AWS Community Builder, an accredited AWS Trainer, and the creator of an AWS YouTube channel and 2 Udemy courses. In 2019, I moved to the beautiful state of Santa Catarina in Brazil and founded SCC Brasil, a cloud consulting company. We primarily serve German and European clients, and we are now expanding into the Brazilian market.
